The New Fitbit I Fell In Love With

Share with Others

Okay, maybe not love. But certainly enough to divorce my current Flex band Fitbit.

A few years back, I bought one of the new cool things in fitness - a Fitbit Flex. It's much more comfortable to wear than the old workout tracker I had, and lightweight, too.

But, as I think we all do from time to time, I got lazy about working out. And the Fitbit gradually faded into the background of my life. Now it just sits there trying to make me feel guilty about not working out enough.

So this Christmas season, like so many of you, I got the urge to go back to working out again. An early New Year's Resolution, I suppose.

The new Fitbit bands had been hovering in the background of my mind until then. Suddenly, I found myself looking at them, picking them up, and considering. And I fell head over heels for the new Fitbit Charge 2.

It's got a ton of useful features — far more than my old Fitbit.

  • Steps, Calories, etc.
  • Cardio Fitness Level
  • Heart Rate Tracking
  • Sleep Tracking
  • Reminders to Move (don't we all need those!)
  • Call, Text, and Calendar alerts
  • Guided Breathing
  • Long Battery Life
  • An easy-to-put-on band (unlike my Flex)
  • 6 colors - I love Lavender, but I'm always a big fan of Blue, too

My Recommendation?

So if you're having one of those New Year's resolution brainstorms, or if somebody you know or love is, I'd consider the Fitbit Charge 2. Lots of features but not so many that you drown in them. The larger Fitbits have even more features, but I have a small wrist, so I'd feel like I'm wearing a bulky, uncomfortable smart watch with those.
